Amazon SES Mail
Overview
Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES) is a cloud-based email sending service designed to help digital marketers and application developers send marketing, notification, and transactional emails. Amazon SES Mail module allows you to send transactional emails, triggered by certain user action such as: account confirmation, order receipt, password reset etc. using Amazon SES Mail. Amazon SES transactional email services ensure better delivery rate for all of your important messages to improve your customer satisfaction and increase revenue preventing you from loosing your customers.
Activating the module
- This plugin is free and available to all HostBill users (provided you're using the latest version)
- Once you download the plugin extract it in the main HostBill directory.
- Go to Settings → Modules, find and activate Amazon SES Mail plugin
- Once the plugin is activated you will be directed to Settings→ Modules→ Plugins to configure the plugin.
Module configuration
Fill in the configuration fields:
- Access Key
- Secret Key
Obtaining credentials from Amazon SES
First of all you must have an active Amazon AWS console account.
Log in to your Amazon AWS console.
To use the Simple Email Service, first you must have a confirmed domain and email address:
- Go to the top left menu and click on Services → Customer Engagement → Simple Email Service
- Choose what you want to verify from the Identity Management section
- Verify your domain and email by following the instructions
After that, you need to create Access key and Secret key:
- Go to top right menu of the page {Username} → My security credentials → Access Keys
- Click the Create New Access Key button
Copy the created keys and put in the fields that are in the module's configuration. Click the Save changes button.
You need Root Account or IAM User API credentials, not the SMTP User credentials
