Certum SSL


Certum specializes in certification services which allow to confirm people’s identity online, and delivers solutions which ensure credibility and safety of documents, electronic data, and devices. Certum SSL module for HostBill allows to sell Certum SSL certificates. HostBill handles full product automation: SSL certificates are issued, synchronized and renewed automatically.

Activating the module

  1. If the module is included in your HostBill edition you can download it from your client portal.
  2. If the module is not included in your HostBill edition you can purchase it from our marketplace and then download it from the client area.
  3. Once you download the module extract it in the main HostBill directory.
  4. Go to Settings → Modules → Hosting Modules, find and activate Certum SSL module.

Connecting HostBill with Certum

  1. Proceed to Settings → Apps → Add new App
  2. From Applications list select Certum SSL
  3. Enter your Certum API:
    1. Username
    2. Password
  4. Verify entered credentials by clicking Test Connection to check if HostBill can connect
  5. Save Changes

Creating your first SSL package

  1. In HostBill go to Settings → Products & Services, and Add new order page
  2. Enter your order page Name.
  3. From Order Types select SSL Certificates.
  4. Select Cart template and Save Changes.
  5. Add new product if you do not have one already. 
  6. Setup your Product Name and Price, Save Changes. 
  7. In product configuration section proceed to Connect with App, select Certum SSL and app Server created in previous steps.
  8. Select Certum Product and setup related setting, Save changes when done.

Certum SSL specific product options:

  • Max Period (Years) - If its adjustable
  • DCV Type (DNS, Email, File) allowed
  • SAN limit - For SAN certificates, you can allow client to adjust SAN limit during order

Configuring Client Functions   

In Products & Services → Your Order Page  Your Product → Client Functions you can control what features customer will have access to in client portal, by clicking Enable/Disable next to the given option.
Use Edit button to adjust function appearance in the client portal.

For Certum SSL you can enable the following client functions dedicated to this module:

  1. Certum Certificate Details
  2. Certificate setup

As well as number of standard client functions


Question: Certificate Setup client function is not visible in the client area.

Answer: This option is only available for Pending accounts, when certificate order is created this option is removed from the client area. It also may be that your template does not display widgets for Pending accounts, if you are using one of our client area templates make sure that it is updated.
