Domainr

Overview

Domainr is the only ICANN-accredited domain status API provider. With direct, privileged access to domain registry data, the Domainr API instantly checks if a domain is available—with no false positives. The Domainr API can help you monitor critical domains, alert you to any changes to their status, and uncover at-risk domains before they change hands. Domainr integration allows to lookup domains using Domainr service. The module supports name suggestions and premium domain detection. If premium domain is detected it will show as unavailable.

 

Once active, can be used in Domain suggestions and as Lookup engine in Lookup Settings

Activating the module

  1. The plugin is free and available to all HostBill users. In order to activate the plugin go to Settings→ Modules→ Plugins → Inactive, find and activate Domainrlookup plugin.

  2. Once the plugin is activated you will be directed to Settings→ Modules→ Plugins to configure the module.

Module configuration

Once you activate the module you will be redirected to module configuration page. To configure the activated module you can also go to Settings → Apps → Add New App.

Fill in the configuration fields:

  1. Module display name

  2. API - field for selecting the currently used API environment.

  3. Rapid API key - API key obtained from https://rapidapi.com/domainr/api/domainr 

  4. Fastly API key - API key obtained from https://manage.fastly.com

Obtaining API Token from Fastly

  1. Go to the Fastly dashboard -> Account -> API tokens -> Personal tokens

  2. Press the Create Token button

  3. Next, enter the name of the new token and set the scope as shown in the image below. Select where the new token will have access. Optionally, set the token expiration date according to your preferences. Click the Create Token button.

  4. Copy the token and paste it into the module configuration.

  5. Remember to enable the Domain research API feature in the Fastly panel. Fastly dashboard -> Tools -> Domain research API. The module will not work without enabling this feature.
