Deprecation notice

This module is deprecated, please use Stripe Checkout v2 instead for one-time payments, or other Stripe modules

Overview

HostBill supports Stripe Checkout payment gateway for collecting payments out of the box.

Activating the module

In order to activate the module login to your HostBill admin panel, go toSettings → Modules → Payment Modules, choose Stripe Checkout gateway and click Activate.

Module configuration

Please note: 

In order for the gateway to work properly you need to configure the Webhook. Please see the external article on Webhook setup.

Once the payment gateway is activated you need to configure it.

Then proceed to filling in all other configuration fields:

  1. Secret Key
  2. Publishable Key - both keys can be obtained once you login to your Stripe dashboard (go to Your Account → API
  3. Statement descriptor
  4. Tick if you want to Enable Bitcoin
  5. Signing secret - required for Chargeback support

All required information can be obtained once you login to your Stripe merchant panel.

If you want the payment gateway to support Chargeback, you will need to add a Callback URL to the Stripe dashboard.


Note: once customer submits first payment, HostBill will store their Stripe customer ID/token for subsequent charges - any invoice issued in the future will be attempted to be charged from customer card automatically (unless not disabled in HostBill credit card configuration settings). Credit card is not stored in HostBill with this gateway.

FAQ

Question: I've enabled the module but it does not display in my client portal.
Answer: This module does not support the currency you attempt to display it in, please use background currency conversion.
