  1. The plugin is free and available to all HostBill users. In order to activate the plugin go to Settings→ Modules→ Plugins → Inactive, find and activate Direct Cart plugin.
  2. Once the plugin is activated you will be directed to Settings→ Modules→ Plugins to configure the module:
    1. Auto-remove stored unordered carts - enter amount of days after which abandoned carts will be removed from db, 0 to disable
    2. Send a reminder e-mail about the unfinished order - enter amount of hours since last action customer took in unordered cart, after which module should send him reminder email
    3. Reminder e-mail template - select email template to be used as reminder. Module auto-installs its own template with auto-generated link to continue order
    4. Do not store carts if client or admin is not logged in - when enabled module would not track abandoned carts unless staff or client is logged in
    5. Do not store carts if total amount is 0 - when enabled module would not track cart contents of free/max-discounted products


Using the module - Abandoned Carts

In Abandoned Carts tab section of module page staff member can browse carts and their contents of current visitors/clients

There staff can in related table:

  • Admin - See if admin was logged in same session
  • Client - Check whether cart was created for logged in client and his IP address
  • Link - Generate direct link to cart with this contents
  • Products - list of products currently in cart
  • Total - total cart amount
  • Created - date when cart was first stored
  • Updated - date when last cart action was taken
  • Reminder Email - whether and when abandoned cart email was sent
  • Actions:
    • Send email - manually send reminder email to customer
    • Create Draft order - build draft order for related client with current cart contents
    • Generate coupon - create coupon for related cart contents
    • Delete - remove stored cart (it will not empty customer cart)

Using the module - Direct cart links mode

  1. While logged in as an administrator, visit your client area and proceed to cart
  2. Select products you want to add, configure them the way you want (add addons, set forms elements, set values, billing cycles, discounts etc.)
  3. Click on Direct Cart Links widget on right-hand side
  4. Click Generate now to generate re-usable link
  5. You will receive direct order link that will contain your current cart configuration, that you can send to customer for rapid checkout process
